Especially for large dogs, which can develop callouses, sores over bony areas like elbows from sleeping or laying on hard surfaces, a good dog beds can be beneficial for their health. Things To Consider When Buying a Dog Bed Look for sturdiness, comfort, support, easy care and style. Get the Proper Size for Your Dog Bed Have your dog lie down then measure its length while lying down and add about a foot for total measurement. Other types of beds are filled with special odor-eliminating material to keep the bed smelling fresh. You can also get designer dog beds made from custom-selected materials. Some popular styles have four poster wrought iron and plush beds in unique colors, shapes and themes.
